Acid dyes are a class of water-soluble dyes with acidic functional groups on their structure, which are dyed in acidic media. Most acidic dyes contain sodium sulfonate salts, which are soluble in water, have bright colors, and complete chromatography. Mainly used for dyeing wool, silk, nylon, etc., it can also be used for leather, paper, ink and other aspects. Cellulose fibers generally have no coloring power.

Acid dye chromatography is complete, with bright colors. The sun fastness and wet treatment fastness vary greatly depending on the dye variety. Compared with direct dyes, acid dyes have a simpler structure and lack longer covalent double bonds and coplanar structures, so they lack directness to cellulose fibers and cannot be used for dyeing cellulose fibers. Due to their different molecular structures, different types of acidic dyes have varying dyeing properties and use different dyeing methods.

Mainly used for dyeing wool, silk, nylon, etc., it can also be used for leather, paper, ink and other aspects. Cellulose fibers generally have no coloring power.
